Grey Alien project

Anyone who's seen the bulk of my work must have worked out by now that I kinda like these fella's.  This is the beginning of a bigger project I'm doing where I want to realize all descriptions of what our otherworldly counterparts might look like.  I'll post more as I develop his body and the other characters as well.  I will be using this guy as the base to do the rest, and might do a skeleton as well.  It's really enjoyable as it's less about designing something we've never seen before and more about refining subtle forms until it looks real.  That is my goal anyway to create a realistic depiction.  Enjoy  :)

Cintiq test

We've been test driving the new Wacom 24 inch Cintiq and it was my turn today!  So.... I made an alien... I had a lot of fun using it in Zbrush and definitely think it's worth it for that... took a bit of getting used to in Photoshop though, I might try just drawing in it next time.  A great product for sure, although I think I'll be going 22 inch for home (when I can afford it) as it would be nice to move it around a lot more... chur!  :)

Another throw away alien head.  Mucking around at work, when i probably shouldn't  ;)  I've always loved Steve Wangs fish head designs and this one is totally inspired by them!  I find his forms totally inspiring with the simplicity in their basic structure but complexity in surface detail.  This is NO WHERe near that.  But I had fun breaking away from fantasy for a bit  :)

Alien Monkeys...

.... are fun to do!  I created this guy as a test for a demo I'm going to be doing soon.  I tried to record a video through ZBrush but ended up being a bit messy, next one will come out and I'll design something a little more exciting than a colourful monkey... although I call him an alien!  The video making process has become very easy in Zbrush and look forward to actually getting it right soon!  The record history states is going to be very handy. 
I will be doing 2 tutes soon one covering my maquette methods for 3D conceptualizing and the other creating conceptual art using Zbrush and Photoshop in a couple of hours like this guy.

The tall lady Grey

A female alien study  :)   She's not exactly grey, but was meant to be inspired by the Grey alien typical design.  Done in ZBrush and Photoshop.  Just updated with a different view and close up  :)

alien head

Considering the weather was quite shite today, I decided to stay in, and play on my laptop, I cranked this guy out in a few of hours. Used me good old tools, Zbrush and Photoshop and had a bit of help from my brain and hands. Started with an old base from another model. Just a bit of fun playing on my new bamboo and pretty happy with what I was able to do. Definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to get one for your laptop, painting on the couch has never been so fun! :)

A Alien

I did this sketch for a project of mine, but didn't feel the overall design was what I wanted, but rather liked it anyway for what it was. Jut a quicky done in Photoshops.

blazed oracle

I kind of imagined a temple, with a lot of these guy's, accepting blessings, like chosen oracles of some sort. Getting blazed all day, talkin some spiritual babble every now and again. But in all seriousness, it was a fun painting, done in good old photoshop.

bioluminescent alien

Inspired a little from watching The Abyss again recently... great design on those aliens! Wanted to do something bioluminescent in a pretty much zero gravity environment. Just some fun anyway, all in photoshop.
